Touch free Lift/Elevator Interface

Most elevators/lifts are based on physical contact/touch for human interaction. The pandemic situations being witnessed today need no-contact solutions for the foreseeable future. We review the options for Contactless Lift Controller(CLS) for fitting to existing contact enabled lift/elevator machines. The system is expected to be interfaced with existing commercial off-the-shelf machines available in the market using a suitable protocol such as CAN bus.

2. Macro Requirements

• Form-factor = Multiple depending on the model

• Display = Yes, LED based indicators

• Power Supply = Existing Lift electronics

• Lift/Elevator Machine Protocol = CAN, RS485 or suitable multi-drop serial

• Contactless Interface = Infrared Frame

3. Solution Architecture & Visualization

Approach-1: Infrared Frame COP & LoP

Approach-2: Neonode Infrared Bar COP & IR Frame LOP

Uses the “Neonode”  IR touch bar in the COP and a simple IR frame for LoP

Approach-3: Holographic COP & Infrared LOP

The above solution for CoP consists of an Aska3D plate + Neonode Touch Sensor.

The pricing for the Aska3D plate is awaited. Similar systems are currently being retailed in China for 2000 USD.

Approach-4: QR Code COP & Infrared LOP

There is no need to install any App. Just phone camera is sufficient.
